Building Tswea

  • armeture wire, two small hammers, and copper wire
getting ready to make some stuff
  • a wet blob of papier-mâché somewhat in the shape of a heart
    wet papier-mâché heart
  • a tan cat licks her lips among model making detritus
one of the cats tries to decide what she can eat (nothing here).
  • a white clay anatomical heart
I made this one myself from clay and a champagne wire
  • spiral wire in the vague form of a heart
a wire structure of a heart to use as a form
  • copper wire tangled up with four long pieces, two in each direction, coming out of the center
copper wire bent into pulmonary arteries
  • plastic anatomical heart model wrapped loosly in wire mesh. a pencil bag rests nearby with "let the adventure begin" written on it.
an experiment with the model and the mesh
  • wire blob with clay wrapped around it. My rings and two hammers in the background.
You can’t see the champagne wire anymore, but it’s in there. I extruded and wrapped clay around the outside, and used some wire mesh to support the top. My rings are there in the background… one from my grandmother and one made from a nut. Two hammers wait for their turn… it didn’t really come this day.
